Ugly Food
Ugly Food: Sweet Potatoes
I promise to show you both the good and the bad from my garden – that I remember to take photos of that is. Here are sweet potatoes that were harvested from pots sitting on my outer lanai area. Four of them are three different varieties.
The next UGLY photo one looks like it is ready for the compost pile, right? Cutting off the end proved that wrong. While it does have root knot nematode damage (must assume it came from the recycled potting soil), it was completely edible.
Home gardening is accepting that perfect veggies are not backyard gardening. Perfect veggies are best left to the commercial growers.
