After the Freeze

Mango newer leaves damaged.

Banana damage. Corms, the portion in the ground, are fine.

I pushed all the pots together for additional warmth. Note to self, the outer plants had more damage than the inner.

Ditto: I pushed all the pots together for additional warmth. Note to self, the outer plants had more damage than the inner.

New leaves on citrus were damaged. All other citrus was fine.

The carambolas (star fruit) might have died. All leaves dry and falling off.

The ice cream mango might have been hit too hard to recover. All leaves damaged.

Figs are still maturing on our fig shrubs. Figs are okay with our colder winters and do drop their leaves AKA deciduous.

Not shown: Perennial peanut, some varieties hit worse than others but I think it will recover. Brazilian spinach AKA Sissoo Spinach, hit badly in some areas and not at all in others. Peanut butter tree might not recover. June plum might not recover. Miracle fruit hit badly and might not recover. All squash hit very badly and probably won't recover however I have seen Seminole Pumpkin regrow from this once before.

We will NOT be replacing trees that don't make it. We WILL replace them with more cold tolerant trees.

Items that did the best with no covers: broccoli, cabbage, radishes, onions, aloe, stevia, mint.
