LEARN from our mistake. We should have called "Sunshine 811" when we had the survey done. One tree he believed to be sitting on a line so the excavator did not remove it. Call 1-800-432-4770.
They send the utility companies out to mark their lines. This takes two
days not including the day you call. We may have to live with this tree
stump even though there is no interference.
Contact Lee County Permitting to discuss the fence questions at 239-533-8329.
If you plan on utilizing your entire lot within the fence, a survey is
needed to know the setback from the road. Surveyors mark the front of
your property so you KNOW where your property line is. Ours is set back
about 18' from the edge of the road. We plan, as of this second, to
extend our 6' foot fence around the back and side to match where our
fence is now. The remaining front portion will be a 4' height to meet
zoning requirements. We will remove the side of our current fence to
open up the back yard.
Price increase. We paid the balance of the lot clearing
and found the compost work was not included. The gentleman did bust his
butt on our lot with one tree in particular and we don't question the
cost, we questioned the quote. This was both our fault because of poor
communication plus the English-Spanish issue. So to spread the compost,
add $500. Compost delivery and spreading will happen next week if all
goes well.
This MONSTER tree took 3 HOURS to remove. To think I was always worried about this one hitting the house.
