Ugly Tomatoes: what to do with them

Ugly Tomatoes

I still keep trying to grow the stuff I loved in Pennsylvania and I have to stop it. Celebrity was my FAVORITE up North. This is what they look like here though. They taste like grocery store tomatoes (short-day winters=less sun). Still prepped a few fresh as to not go to waste and they do look beautiful if I do say so myself. I drizzled a French/Italian dressing mix then topped with dried moringa.

Reduced Calorie French/Italian dressing recipe:
  • One bottle of Italian dressing that you LOVE
  • One bottle of French dressing that you LOVE
  • Pour off the oil in the Italian dressing into a zip bag and put in the trash. LOTS of calories in the oil
  • Mix both bottles together into a larger jar with a lid
  • Keeps until either dressing's label date
WaaaaaLaaaaa.
Karen's French/Italian Dressing

By removing the oil from the Italian, then blending the high calorie French with the now reduced calorie Italian, we have a calorie conscience salad dressing.

How to make sun-starved tomatoes taste better? Roast them. Yum.

Roast it and it will taste much better recipe:
Slice, dice, or chop your favorite veggie. Toss or brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt. (I add salt when serving because I am a salt-a-holic.) Roast or grill until "charred". Charred is when the sugars have been brought out of the plant and start to burn making dark brown marks.
