Snails are our problem this year on our cabbages. Our copper pennies are coming out to hopefully save the day by electric shock.

Just cut out the dark spots and holes and all is good. We ended up eating this as fried cabbage. Slice cabbage and put into pot. Add some water and bacon fat (it's what makes it taste fantastic so don't skip) and cook on medium to medium low until browned. Cooking takes a while but is well worth the wait.





When we trimmed the cabbage from the plant we were careful to leave the base and quite a few of the flat leaves behind uncut. There will be VISIBLE nodes after the head is cut off that will develop into additional heads.
