30 second GMO explanation.
A Genetically Modified Organism is a plant (or animal) created by merging DNA from different species creating a combination that cannot occur in nature.
Factual example: pig DNA placed into orange tree DNA to save the extinction of our morning glass of orange juice.
Does this make the new orange tree a Frankenstein plant or human technology at it's best?
Beyond the ethical issue of playing God, there are concerns on the long term effects of human consumption plus the impact on bees, insects, and our planet in general.
Think this is not happening right now? You are mistaken. Almost ALL corn products in grocery stores are GMO. They are not required to label or inform us of this.
