In an effort to make food easier in my kitchen, this worked out well. Boil water, add a couple handfuls of 100% whole wheat pasta. Cook for about 4 minutes then add a few handfuls of broccoli florets and cook both 5 minutes more. Watch pot for boiling over and adjust heat to keep it as hot as you can. Drain and rinse with cold water. As it is cooling in the sink, harvest tomatoes. Rinse tomatoes and add to salad. Top with your favorite dressing. Simple, fast, clean.
Cooking for one or two, I now use an asparagus cooker as my pasta pot. Much lighter and works really, really well even with thin spaghetti. You can buy it on Amazon here.
