4-H AG Bus Tour Saturday, January 20, 2018

Please consider supporting my VegHeads 4-H club by attending our AG bus tour. Your support allows my VegHeads club to attend 4-H summer camp, 4-H State events, and attend the 4-H awards ceremonies. In addition, these funds provide the supplies to enter plants into fair and materials for our community service projects.

Tickets are $65 for an entire day of entertainment which includes transportation, a light breakfast, lunch, and a bag of goodies to go home with you.

Never a dull moment as we take a bus ride through a slice of Lee County with our SUPER knowledgeable speaker Gene McAvoy UF/IFAS 5-County Vegetable Agent.
Our first stop will be a light breakfast and tour of a seed company's facility followed by an extravagant home garden of fruits and vegetables.
We stop back at our starting point for a delicious mid-day lunch prepared by Lee County 4-H youth with their parents and of course lead by our own chief Samantha. Meet the youth that benefit from your ticket purchase as they wait your tables. Our lunch is sponsored by Thrivent Financial.
After lunch, we board the bus for a raffle of fantastic prizes so bring some cash with you. $1 a ticket. $20 for an armlength (Mr. John has long arms!) Remember it all goes to the kids. Raffle prizes donated by Rural King, Barbara B Mann, Dunkan's Diamonds, Broadway Palm, Fowler Firearms, King Fisher Fleet, SWFL Symphony, Sun Harvest Citrus, Culvers, Iguana Mia, and ECHO.
We will disembark to view first-hand Lee County's agriculture including tomato, pepper, and citrus production. Mr. Scott will be our host again for a lengthier tour (for those who attended last year and requested more time here). Then off to a packing facility to watch how produce is handled after it is harvested.

To top this off, when your day is done, we provide a bag full of goodies for you to take home. Goodie Bags were donated by Lee County Solid Waste. Contents of Goodie Bags were donated by US Sugar, Rural King, and Lee County 4-H.
Your ticket purchase allows 4-H youth participate in 4-H Washington DC events, 4-H State events, 4-H summer camp, and to attend 4-H award ceremonies.
Thank you for supporting Lee County 4-H.
