Views of the garden today

My attempt at bonsai habanero. Second harvest. The habanero pepper plant has been pinched and pinched and pinched at every node. We like the flavor, but we don't need a large amount of peppers. Plenty are still on the plant that are green. The fruit are getting larger in size as the plant matures. Growing plant in a pot.

Swiss chard still going strong after two cuttings. Seeds started in the fall. Growing in a pot.

Lots of green bell peppers were harvested when frost was predicted. These were left on the plant and are waiting to turn red. These plants were started from seed in the fall. Growing plant in a pot with a tomato cage for support.

Harvested perennial/walking/Egyptian onions for dinner tomorrow. We have not bought onions in one year now! These are planted in compost amended sand and receive minimal drip irrigation. One bulb will grow and divide into a clump of onions. When I need onions, I just pull/snap the largest "scallions" from a clump. Each onion shown was taken from a separate clump. In the spring, these onions will grow bulblets in place of flowers, but right now they are just multiplying in the ground.
