Bee plant: Angelonia.

Remember: this is my first time with anything that is not edible. I post what I believe to be true but will follow up on what actually happens.

The internet guides say this a tender perennial for zones 10-11. Being in Lehigh, we shall see how it fairs. So far so good.

The one thing I can say is that this is a FANTASTIC sun-loving bee plant with spikes of purple, pink, blue, or white. Even at a box store, this plant was covered with bees. Now that is a true bee plant! Deadhead them... deadheading means to cut off the spent/dead flower heads. This plant can tolerate some dry soil after established. They grow 1-2 feet high and 1-2 feet wide. Regular fertilizing ensures blooms. They have been blooming non-stop since I planted them in mid Summer.

INSECTS: Spray a mix of 1-2 Tablespoons of liquid soap to a gallon of water if aphids decide to suck on it. (Yes, that is what aphids do.) DAWN is too strong, use the cheap stuff!
