June 1 - September 30: Fertilize your lawn the right way.
These three numbers in order are: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium.
Most of Lee County: during the rainy season, only use fertilizers that have zeros for the first two numbers for lawns and horticulture including palms. First violation is $100, second $250, third $500. See below for specific area ordinances.
Vegetable gardens are exempt if they are 15 feet from canals or any type of water. Compost can be applied anytime throughout the year.
